The Central Florida Dog & Disc Club would like to thank everyone who came down for a fun filled weekend in Orlando and everyone who helped pull off our largest ever club hosted event. We had some warm Florida weather all weekend and had a record number of entries for the Central Florida Flying Disc Challenge / Ashley Whippet Invitational Florida Qualifier (over 170 total entries). We had teams competing from all over the country: Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas and even a few teams from Ontario, Canada. The Accuracy Round proved to be tough as always and was the major difference maker in the final placements of the Flying Disc Challenge! We had to make an executive decision to run a second field three days before the event to accomodate all of the teams entered and we owe great thanks to the people who stepped up to the challenge. Liz Lovins, Kathleen O'Neil, and Tony Bonadeo judged all day, while Stacy McIlveen and Chris Engel all pitched in to make sure that competitors could walk up and get in order to get their standard Throw & Catch rounds completed without conflicting with the main Freestyle and Accuracy field. Congratulations to all of our Division winners and the top three in each division of the Flying Disc Challenge received a trophy. Also the top 5 teams in the Ashley Whippet Invitational standings all received one of a kind custom disc trophies, an orange World Finalist shirt, along with an invitation to the Ashley Whippet Invitational World Championship which will be held in Naperville, Illinois over Labor Day weekend.
